Zone Conference

I love what you had to say about Faith. That is perfect. True faith is when we just step into the dark not knowing what is going to happen but putting it in the Lords hands. That is way true Faith is so hard. Because with true faith we don't know what we are going to do, when we are going to do it, or how it will work. We put it into the Lords hands. It is hard at times to just put everything in his hands but that is what we need to do to live with him for time and all eternity. For when we take that first step into the dark that is when Christ lights up the rest of the way. If we never take the first step we just sit there lost in the dark and in the world of confusion. We all need to pray to have that faith, and work on that faith every day of our lives.

That will be great to have some visitors. It always helps to have a little company. Good thing is that we are never really alone. We always have God and Christ and Angels round about us. Also it helps that I have my comp with me 24/7. That is great. We are great friends. We actually study the scriptures together in Portuguese together on my hammock every day. haha. Weird I know but we only have one. We are already the best of friends.

So the meeting with Elder Claudio R M Costa and Elder Puerta was amazing. That whole conference our President of the mission called me and my companion to set it up. So we had to organize the other zones and get there early at the Church to set everything up. That was a lot of work. The most work came when everything showed up late. Our lunch was supposed to arrive at about 12:00 but didn't until about 1:00. So that was fun stalling with all the 80 missionaries that were there. Then also the counselor of our mission President arrived late. So when he got there we had to run around to help him out and to talk to all the missionaries. Then we had to organize where everyone sat. All this while giving a training class to our zone. Then we were called on to do a special music number in the middle of Elder Claudio R M Costa´s meeting with us. That was really great. We actually sang really good but I was really nervous. Then the coolest part: Me and my companion got to talk and converse with Elder Claudio R M Costa personally. We helped him get into the Church and walked him to the chapel. Then we just talked with him. He actually speaks really good English. Than during the whole meeting with him we had to run the microphone around the missionaries to answer and ask questions. Also Sister Costa talked with us. She is really great. She talked to us about a lot of things. She explained to us as well how we can pick our future wives. For the first hour Elder Costa let us ask any question we wanted. That was really spiritual and then he gave a talk. He told me and my comp of a place we have to eat at here in Santos. I am pretty excited to eat there. All around I was running around like mad for like the whole day. But that was a really fun day as well. I love staying busy. What a great day and week.

Well that is all for this week. Two of our investigators received the Gift of the Holy Ghost this week. That was really cool. They also became really good friends. They are the same age. I really hope they can help one another out. I really have a strong testimony about this church and gospel. I know that it is true. I really have no doubts in my mind. I love my savior and redeemer and know he is there for me. What a great knowledge it is to know you always will have someone on your side to help you out. God and Christ and the Holy Ghost will never leave our sides unless we leave there sides. They will always help unless we don't want help. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet of God and oh what a blessing it is to know that. I know that he knows the will of God and Jesus Christ. I love you all and I want you all to keep doing the little things in your life so that one day we can all live together again.

Trust in the Lord

Always look to our Father in Heaven. He will help you in everything you need. That is the message that our family needs to learn. Always go to our Father in Heaven in everything. We as a family should always be praying for one another. Fasting for one another, and thinking about one another. I think our family needs to be united in one cause. That cause is to live with our Father in Heaven again. We need to as a family do the little things. A prophet of the Lord said. We need to all lift where we stand for that is the only way we can all reach our goal. I love this Gospel with all my heart. I know that God loves me. I know he loves me because he gives me challenges. The challenges we face are the things we need, to have a better chance to live with God again. Without those little challenges we could not support the big ones. I know God knows me. I really hope that we as a family stay strong in our goal to be an eternal family. That means everyone needs to have personal study and prayer and family study and prayer. That means we all have to lift where we stand. I am trying my hardest to reach the celestial kingdom with you all. I want to be an eternal family and I want to live with Megan again and with our Father in Heaven. That is my goal but let us make that a family goal.

Use the Lord in all you do. There is no such thing as luck just blessings. Pray to him fervently for him to lead and bless you and that is exactly what he will do. I love the fact that I know He is there for us always. It is such a relief. Trust in him and all else will fall into place. All we have to do is pray and He answers. Prayer is the strength to conquer all things. For in two we can accomplish all, if one of those two is Jesus Christ.

Well just a little about my mission. This last week we had the chance to have two baptisms. That was really great. The Lord blessed us so much with those two baptisms. Also I and my comp are having such a great time together. We are already the best of friends and really work hard together but while having a lot of fun. We have almost the same personality which makes things interesting. I really love the mission and the many things that I am learning. I have really changed through this first year and hope to change even more. I think the Lord Can mole me even more and that is what I want. I hope that he molds me into something that will be use full in the building of his Kingdom. Well one year from now today I will be in the presence of you all. Always do the little things and the Lord will bless you.

P.S. Also the Mission President has put me and my companion in charge of taking care of a General Authority when he comes to our mission. I will have to take care of the other missionaries. haha. Good luck to me. haha.

Trust in the Lord

This week has been great. We have had a great time and I have learned a lot. Also this next transfer I will be with another American in the same area. He has 6 weeks more than me on the mission. I knew him in the CTM and he is way tight. We were good buddies in the CTM so this should be a great Transfer.

All I have to say is put all your faith in the Lords hands. Put your life into his hands for he will guide you. Pray unto him and fast. I know that the Lord will bless all of you. Also have confidence in what the Lord decides is right. At times we do not understand what is going on but we just have to trust in the Lord.
That is why I love Proverbs 3: 5-6 “ 5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
I know that this scripture is true. We all need to just put our lives into the Lords hands. I love this gospel so much. I know that it is the only way to eternal happiness. Search to do the things that God wants and you will find happiness. Don’t let Satan get to you by using other people.
As for my email it is daniel.parkinson@myldsmail.net.

Conference was Amazing

Wow!!!! All I know is that Conference was amazing. I love hearing the words of God through his servants. He really spoke through his servants directly to me as I am sure he did with you. I am not great. For as to my own strength I am nothing, but with the Help of God I can do all things and overcome all things. I really hope that you enjoyed reading and pondering the scriptures I can only imagine the comfort you felt. I however could not read during the middle because I was trying to teach and find new people. I am however learning to really engulf the scriptures. They are such a blessing in my life. God really knows us and will always do things to help us. I to was able to learn all the same things that you learned and more. Some things that I am grateful for and that I learned:
1. I have an amazing mother. They talked a lot about the strength of a great mother. I realized that I have that. That is all I need in my life is to follow your great strength and example. You are amazing mother. I look to the moments when we can sit down and talk about the doctrine of Christ and the Book of Mormon.
2. Our family is special. We really have to protect our family and start with our children young. This gave me much hope in helping my children later.
3. The attributes of Christ. I really heard a lot of things that Christ had that I need to put into my life.
4. Trials are for us. So we can support and deal with the bigger things to come. He gives us trials to protect us from bigger things that could have happened. (He used it with the example of the immunizations)
5. God is so merciful and loving. The atonement of Christ is good for all mankind no matter what they already have done or what they will do.
6. God loves us and wants the best for us and for his other children
7. I also have learned how to make better judgments and to do the right things always.

Some new things that happened this week.

1. Tashi found someone else and will maybe marry him. That was really hard to hear. But you know what I guess she wasn’t the one to help me to live with him again. It is hard to believe but I have and am putting my faith in the Lord.
2. I found a Sister missionary in the CTM that is writing to me now for a while. She is serving in Florianopolis. She is amazing.
3. I love the Gospel even more every single Day. My comp teaches me so much and how to be better.
4. I am learning how to play the guitar on my p-days.
5. I almost have a year and next Tuesday will be transfers again.
6. I love the Gospel and know it is true.
7. Satan is working hard so that means I have to work harder.
8. The work is going great
9. The weather today is flooding everywhere. It is raining so much.
10. I LOVE YOU

Need to watch the movie The Prophet of the Restoration, if you haven’t already seen it. It is amazing. Let me know what you think after you watch it. It is a movie about one hour and 20 minutes long.

A real quick story that the sister that I am writing said to me to help me through this. She is great her name is Sister Lasley. I don’t remember exactly how it goes nor do I have the letter with me here so I will summarize.

Sunday will Come
As we all know, Christ died on a Friday. When He died there was so much
sadness and despair. Everyone didn’t know what was going on or why it had to happen.
In everyone’s life we will pass those Fridays. Those days or those times
when we just don’t know why it had to happen and we sink to sadness and despair.
We will be in a bit of darkness trying to find our way out. The great thing is that Sunday Comes! Christ was resurrected on a Sunday. It was a day of Great joy and happiness.
A day, that when we will realize what is going on and just feel great. A day and time, of never ending happiness. I promise that Sunday will come. We might pass through a Friday but Sunday will come.

I loved that story. I really screwed it up but sorry I tried to remember. Just remember that Sunday will come. Put your faith always in Christ for he is the way and the Light of the World. I love this gospel. I know that Christ lives and loves us.
